Why Havena.
Long waiting lists and shortage of health workers threaten our health system. Without digital transformation and transition to health, healthcare will grind to a standstill.
Current initiatives in regular healthcare are slow and moderately successful in implementing these changes. Ksyos Digital Hospital that broadly delivers digitally transformed care to insured patients is a positive exemption.
However, Ksyos is not granted the support from the conventional system to face these healthcare challenges on its own. Therefore, its’ founder Leonard Witkamp has started Havena as a complimentary initiative to speed up digital transformation. With the final aim to keep healthcare accessible for everybody.

In our health system, patients have little or no say in where, how and when to get their care, let alone in guiding obligatory innovations in our excellent but outdated healthcare system.
These innovations depend on systems and organizations that may feel threatened by these same innovations. We think that a platform that supports citizens to make substantiated decisions about their own health and care will significantly speed up the necessary process of digital transformation and transition to health.

Havena has started to do so for expats in medical specialistic care. For them, Havena realizes a visit to a medical specialist of good reputation within one week without intervention of a general practitioner. As easy as booking our flight.

While Havana serving the expat by finding immediate and tailored medical specialistic care, the expats with their financial support and feedback directly add to the necessary digital transformation and transition to health for our society.
Thus, paving the way for an accessible, trustworthy, innovative and client-centered health provision, eventually reimbursed for millions of citizens.

Service
Based on questionnaires and telephone inquiries supported by AI, Havena connects the client to the best medical specialist tailored to the requirements and characteristics of this client. It offers a subsequent high-end visit to the expat that includes:
- AI and personal guided referral
- Visit to medical specialist of good reputation
- Within one week
- No intervention of general practitioner
- Conversation in English
- Medical history and physical examination
- Medical advice
- Advice on as to and how to proceed in the reimbursed and/or non-reimbursed medical system if necessary
- Report to general practitioner if required
- Advice on access to general practitioners specialized in expat care
One-time visit to the medical specialist costs € 500, - not reimbursed by Dutch health insurers.
